Hardeep Nijjar Case: India is again facing opposition in the case of the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Last week, Canada’s top leader Jagmeet Singh had accused India of Nijjar’s murder. Now the Foreign Minister of Canada jumped into this issue. Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Jolie said, we also believe that our citizen was murdered by an Indian agent. After the statement of the Foreign Minister, India’s High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma present in Canada has reacted. He said, casting an evil eye on India’s territorial integrity is like crossing the Lakshman Rekha. Don’t cross the Canada line. India’s future will no longer be decided by foreigners, but by Indians themselves. At the same time, Jolie said that Canada knows how to protect the citizens of the country. We stand by the allegations that Indian agents murdered a man on Canadian soil. No one from the Canadian government will say anything else on this matter. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police team is investigating this matter.

‘Such elements are emerging in Canada which are a threat to India’
Indian High Commissioner Sanjay Verma, who was attending a Foreign Relations program in Canada, said that such elements are emerging on Canadian soil which are a threat to India. When we call each other friends, we expect to understand each other’s perspectives, culture, and concerns. However, there are some issues on which no results have been achieved over the years. Let us tell you that on June 18, 2023, Nijjar was shot dead while leaving the Gurudwara in Surrey city. Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau had also accused the Indian government of being involved in Nijjar’s murder, which India rejected. Now the Canadian Police had arrested 3 accused of Nijjar’s murder on 3 May. It is being claimed that all three are Indians.

Anti-India slogans raised outside the court
All the accused involved in Nijjar’s murder were presented in the Surrey Court of British Columbia on May 7. During this time there was a large crowd of members of the Sikh community in the court room. Khalistani supporters raised slogans and held placards outside the court blaming the Indian government for the murder. The court has extended the hearing on 2 out of the 3 accused to May 21. At the same time, the third accused Kamalpreet has sought legal counsel.
